Line and Shape
In the bottom right photo, I took a picture of a yellow lab in her cage. The distance was from about a foot away from the front of the outside of the cage. My photograph was taken horizontally and I did consider the rule of thirds when taking the picture by positioning the camera so that the middle of her face was in the center, the cage and her eyes in the top of the photo and her paw in the bottom.
Dodge and Burn
The first picture is with no editing. The center picture was transferred into black and white. And in the third picture I dodge and burned. I made the dog lighter as well as the sky, and made the trees much darker. i also made the grass and rock lightly darker too.
Pattern and Texture
Powerlines and Playgrounds
1. the center-right photo with the street sign best demonstrates the rule of thirds because it is broken up into 3 segments; the top of the photo is taken up by the sky, the center is when the sky meets the trees and power lines, and the bottom of the photo is taken up by the street sign
2. the center-right photo demonstrates distance and point of view the most because it was taken almost right below the street sign and power line but in a point of view so you're capable of reading it still
3. the bottom right photo demonstrates positive and negative space the most because it is focused on the one jungle gym in the front where the bars create the rectangular shapes, the sky and rest of the park is the negative space.
4. the top left picture is the best example of a strong composition because the viewer's eye starts at the darkest part of the photo which is the light post and move to the brightest part of the image which is the white clouds in the sky
5. i feel the bottom right photo satisfies the assignment the most because there is a wide range of shades, the rule of thirds was used, and there is a lot of line and shapes in the photo.
6. The top left photo has the greatest rang of black and white with proper exposure because the clouds show the range of shades.
